03/17/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Chicago Bulls have picked a bad time to start playing poorly and their chances of ending an eight-game slide don't look so promising with tonight's road matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Bulls have also dropped five in a row as the visitor, including the first three tests of a four-game road trip. In a 104-97 loss at Memphis last night, Ronald Murray led the way with 25 points and Hakim Warrick chipped in 22 points off the bench for Chicago, which is 12-22 away from the Windy City and 1 1/2 games behind Toronto for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.
"There's a lot of basketball left, but we can't keep saying that," Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro said. "We're in a really tough stretch right now. We have to come back to the drawing board."
Acie Law had a season-high 18 points, as the Bulls played without forward Luol Deng (calf) and guards Derrick Rose (wrist) and Kirk Hinrich (suspension). All three are questionable for Wednesday's game. Over his last eight games Rose is averaging 23.6 ppg, 5.6 apg and 2.5 rpg.
The Bulls haven't lost nine in a row since opening the 2004-05 campaign with an 0-9 record.
Dallas had its season-high 13-game winning streak come to a halt in its last outing, a 128-94 drubbing at the hands of the lowly New York Knicks on Saturday in Big D.
Dirk Nowitzki had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Jason Kidd scored 15 points and Shawn Marion tallied 14 and eight boards for the Mavericks, who are four games ahead of San Antonio for the Southwest lead and third in the Western Conference playoff race, just a half-game behind No. 2 Denver.
"It was a poor performance all around," Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said after the team's first loss since February 16 at Oklahoma City. "We really didn't come close to winning a quarter. When you get thoroughly thrashed like that, it's something that's difficult."
Over his last six games, Marion is averaging 17.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks, while shooting 56.6 percent from the floor. Kidd is posting 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists and 2.1 steals in 14 contests since the All-Star break.
The Mavericks had won their previous eight home games before the recent setback and are 1-1 on a four-game residency. They will also host Boston and have a 23-10 home mark this season. In injury news for Dallas, guard Jason Terry (facial surgery) is probable for tonight.
Dallas recently defeated Chicago, 122-116, on March 6 at the United Center behind Nowitzki's 27 points and a career-high 24 from Rodrigue Beaubois. The Mavs have won two straight, four of five and 20 of the last 23 meetings with the Bulls, who are winless in their last four visits to Big D.

Chiefs' Treen Green out for Sunday's game
How long Trent Green will remain sidelined is unknown. Coach Herm Edwards said Monday he will miss a second straight start Sunday when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Green was going into a feet-first hook slide when he was knocked unconscious by a thunderous, head-snapping hit from Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com currently have the Chiefs listed as 7-point favorites versus the 49ers.
The 49ers got beat by Philadelphia 38-24 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (42.5).
Alex Smith completed 27-of-46 passes for 293 yards with a touchdown. Michael Robinson rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.
The Chiefs lost 9-6 to Denver last week as an 11-point underdog. The combined score was well UNDER the posted over/under total (38).
Larry Johnson rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries. Damon Huard completed 17-of-23 passes for 133 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
